Strange Letters

Structured as an epistolary novel ('ethopeia'), the narrative unfolds through the raw, unfiltered letters written by Adam Abramovich Pervomaysky, an aging disabled World War II veteran living in a cramped Moscow room, to his estranged wife. Through his repetitive, obsessive outpourings, petty grievances, and fragmented memories, the book lays bare intimate marital estrangement alongside the quiet despair, alienation, and moral exhaustion of Soviet life.
