Following the tragic loss of his young son, accomplished neurologist Julio Salgado walks away from his prestigious career and city lifestyle to find renewed meaning in a rural mountain town in Madrid. Setting out to establish a country inn, he rents a room in the home of Ana Alonso, a resourceful separated mother struggling with debt while raising her ten-year-old son. As Julio grows closer to Ana and clashes with the town's overbearing local powerbroker, a dedicated educator works to provide guidance and a fresh start to at-risk youth in the close-knit community.
