Nuvens

Hilda Machado registered the manuscript for Nuvens with Brazil's National Library in 1997, but left it unpublished when she died in 2007. During her lifetime, the filmmaker and cinema professor had published only two poems. Her sister Angela Machado and writer Ricardo Domeneck recovered the manuscript, which Editora 34 published in 2018. The poems treat domestic routines, film history, and memory with spare phrasing and dry humor. The volume won the Prêmio Jabuti for poetry in 2019.
