Unwind

• Neal Shusterman has a fantastic and addictive storytelling style; he writes so well that the world he creates feels remarkably real, yet revolting. A book that sparks deep reflection without ever becoming dull; on the contrary, with every page I felt anxious to discover the characters' fates. Speaking of characters, they are exceptionally well-crafted, and throughout the story we watch several of them truly mature.

• I devoured this book in a single day because I simply couldn't do otherwise. I am deeply horrified and shocked by the world he depicts for us. It is so twisted, yet so brilliant!

• My favourite read of the year. I read it digitally before it came out in Spain and it was a huge surprise. A book I couldn't put down until I finished it, and one that made me question so many things around the topic of abortion. It also stirred up sensations I had never experienced in all my years of reading. The "unwinding" scene gave me an anxiety attack; for that alone, I will always remember this book and will never tire of recommending it.

• Neal Shusterman knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats with a story packed with twists. You are literally glued to the narrative, deeply attached to the three characters, rooting so hard for them to make it through and prove that unwinding is something that should never exist.

• In this series, you are plunged into a world very close to our own, but one where, following a long Heartland War, abortion is forbidden. However, it is possible to surrender a child at birth for adoption, or to have them "unwound" between the ages of 13 and 18.
