An essay necessary in its own right, rich in insights and reflections. Although its structure is not always organic (each chapter tackles a somewhat different topic), the arguments are well connected to one another. Siti's analysis is detached, shrewd, even ironic, and provides a good socio-political picture of our country through the examination of literature and its "commitment".
Lorenzo Coltellacci on Goodreads One of the most important writers we have in Italy, Walter Siti, in an agile pamphlet, beautifully written, asks whether literature must possess overt moral connotations, acting in some way as a bearer of values such as the good and commitment.
Vincenzo Mazzaccaro on Sololibri An interesting (and thoroughly up to date: covering literary works released up to this year) pamphlet that, very courageously and on the edge of the politically incorrect, attempts to counter all the unhealthy ideas plaguing much of contemporary literature. First and foremost, the reckless idea that literature must necessarily pursue the good and even have a purely educational and therapeutic function.
