In Alexandria on the eve of the 1919 Egyptian revolution against British colonial rule, three working-class friends pursue their distinct passions: an aspiring Olympic boxer, an Italian-Egyptian singer, and a fiery activist printer. As patriotic fervor sweeps the nation, their loyalties and individual ambitions are tested against the violence of colonial occupation.
