I was a broken woman after this film, nothing more than a shell of myself... Swore to myself I'd never watch this film again because it kicks me out of my emotional orbit. But in exceptional cases I'd be willing to again, I've recovered.
naomskii on Letterboxd In the magnificent Atonement, writer Ian McEwan constructs a tragedy at the confluence of a handful of small events. It seems a miracle, but the adaptation lives up to its brilliance
Isabela Boscov on Letterboxd Good film about lies, acted very well and with an anomalous soundtrack
nicolamasi on Letterboxd It manages to make certain shots feel very uncomfortable. I like how it shows things from the girl's perspective and then the older one's. The typewriter motif is so cool. The ending is very, very beautiful.
mireiamoya on Letterboxd The film emotionally destroyed me (someone please give me the reference for the green dress)
