Mad Max: Fury Road

• The characters are fascinating, and I was especially drawn to the exploits of Max and Furiosa. Tom Hardy, who took over the role of Max, was cool with his strong sense of justice and his drive for freedom. Furiosa, despite her bold shaved head, was a woman who embodied both fierce leadership and strength.

• To be captivated and drawn in until the very end without a moment to breathe must be thanks to the sheer brilliance of the cinematography—it is breathtaking. Even in this era of rapid technological advancement, watching it after a decade, I was deeply moved by the vivid worldview conveyed by the visuals and its immense convincing power.

• SENSATIONAL. Everything is good in this movie: Charlize Theron is devastating as Imperator Furiosa, Tom Hardy is great as Mad Max, and there are many other excellent characters. The score by Junkie XL hits like a freight train, complete with a flaming double-neck guitar (you have to see it to believe it)... The movie doesn't stop for a single second; check your heart health and jump into the madness crafted by exceptional director George Miller.

• Technically the film is excellent; it is essentially one long chase across the radiant desert dunes, delivering spectacular sequences like the sandstorm, both by night and by day, all captured with an enviable command of the camera that never loses its intensity.

• The effects, the sound design, the audio—everything is Oscar-worthy. The score is simply fantastic, and the vehicle designs for the trucks, cars, etc., are so brilliant that cheap fast-action films cannot compete. Tom Hardy as the taciturn Max convinces through his sheer screen presence and composed demeanor. Charlize Theron is magnificent as Furiosa, finally bringing a genuinely powerful female lead to the screen who feels completely compelling and authentic.
