Look Back is nothing less than a love letter to art and all the messiness that comes with it, and is easily one of the strongest films of the year, if not one of the best I've seen.
Jairus Taylor on Anime News Network A touching story that’s also a pleasure to look at thanks to director Kiyotaka Oshiyama’s springy, supple art style.
Matt Schley on The Japan Times It’s a faithful take on the material that exudes love for its source material, this medium, and the very act of creation in every frame.
