Very good film, exquisite like Renán... I must say the horse scene completely bowled me over... couldn't even watch it in full... otherwise a great atmosphere, and standout actors
@aschalum on YouTube What a cast! I had read the novel and it is quite faithful to it. What a master Lito Cruz is, a tremendous actor.
@falazfel on YouTube I saw it at the Tita Merello cinema when it was first released. I had never seen it again. Almost 20 years later, I liked it even more than the first time.
@hebercufe on YouTube Throughout the film, Germán Palacios's gaze conveys that magical ritual through which certain actors truly become their character. Surely those were the eyes Bioy dreamed of for his creation.
razondelgusto on Razón del gusto I liked the film because it is quite faithful to the novel; there were even dialogues that were identical to those in the book. The costumes and set design are brilliant, portraying the novel's period with meticulous detail. The carnival is very well recreated, a celebration that faded away with the passage of time.
