The main strength of the film lies in the directing of things that cannot be photographed. In concealment. The film is so aggressive at certain moments that I felt the director was attacking me personally, while at other moments it is so restrained that I wanted to scream at someone to just do something. The best of Israeli films this year.
רז פורת on סריטה You know the film's meta-commentary on violence in movies works when for the first half all you can think is "this is just like Funny Games!" but for the second half you get emotional and start crying.
Roee Myzel on Letterboxd This is a disturbing and thought-provoking film, boasting moments of unbearable tension and a moral compass that may seem questionable to some viewers, part of whom will undoubtedly react with recoil. It is a film that is not ashamed to lure you in, and then deploy unconventional weapons to steer the viewer wherever the story needs to take them, not necessarily by the most comfortable route.
