The Butterfly's Dream

Set in the coastal coal-mining town of Zonguldak during World War II, two impoverished young poets, Muzaffer Tayyip Uslu and Rüştü Onur, dream of publishing their work and awakening Turkey's passion for modern verse while battling tuberculosis. When Suzan Özsoy, the educated daughter of an influential official, returns home, both men make a wager to win her heart through their poetry, forging a deep artistic bond that endures through illness, social divisions, and impending tragedy.
