Anyone hoping to find something to dislike about Börje – The Journey of a Legend will have to look for a very long time. On every level, this feels like a consummate, fully realized series where the creators received the resources necessary to execute their vision without compromise.
Axel Diedrichs on Filmtopp Yet, as equipment manager "Smokey" says right at the start of the series: ice hockey made Börje Salming feel alive. Isn't seeking that feeling something we all strive for? In that way, "Börje" captures what it means to be human quite brilliantly.
Mattias Bergqvist on Expressen "Börje" is an entertaining, respectful, moving, and inspiring tribute with great pacing, where great care has been taken both to capture the fashion and environments of the 70s and 80s, and to highlight the contrast between northern Sweden and North America.
