Love's Lone Flower
孤戀花In 1940s Shanghai, dance-hall hostess Shen Yunfang buys out singer Wubao's contract from a mobster at the Paramount club, forming a close bond with her. Lin Sanlang, a Taiwanese heir who rejected his family's medical ambitions to write music, arrives in the city and begins a relationship with Wubao, but the war cuts their lives short and claims Wubao. Twenty years later in Taipei, Yunfang works at the Mayflower club and crosses paths with Sanlang again. Both try to protect Juanjuan, an abused young singer whose voice and temperament echo Wubao, until addiction and family abuse push her to murder.
