The Rising of the Shield Hero

• With your run-of-the-mill isekai anime that have been flooding the anime community, we usually see the main protagonists transported to a world where they become super strong and eventually end up as Gary Stus that are fawned over. However, it's exactly the opposite with this series and that’s what makes it so engaging and a must-watch. It’s just different. The story preserves intense emotional depth.

• In my many years of watching anime and reading manga, Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari is the first anime that depicted the protagonist opening up a book to the FIRST page. Although such a detail may seem minuscule, I believe that the slight details in arranging the situations throughout is incredible. Not only that, but the details made in the art surrounding the scenes were precise and beautiful to look at.

• Honestly, the best I've seen this season, I love its opening and ending, its characters, the details with which it builds its history and fights, in addition to the relationships between the protagonists. His characters are close to what is the reality of a medieval world like that and the political and religious tensions that it has.

• It's the kind of anime that makes you root so bad for the protagonist that you kind of feel whatever he is feeling too. The character development is that great. You want him to succeed, you want him to be happy. This anime is doing an amazing job showing the side of humans we don't usually see in animes. The corrupted and disgraceful society that's presented to you almost makes you want to take matters into your own hands and help the wronged.

• Overall, this anime is a great balance between action-packed fighting scenes and includes aspects of romance as well. Better than expected, hopefully it can keep it up. Naofumi is one of my favorite protagonists of all Time because of his inherently good character, but because of his troubled beginning in the world he does things in a different, but very interesting way.
