• When it comes to acting, everyone has slipped into their character with total ease. Jameel Khan, Harsh Mayar, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, and Geetanjali Kulkarni—every single actor is perfect in their role. Their performances feel as though each of them truly lived their character. What is special is that watching them will remind you of someone in your own family.

• Gullak Season 2 is a vehicle that has all its wheels at the same wavelength. We don’t get to witness actor actually indulge in ‘jugalbandi’ on screen, and when we do, we are up for a brilliant experience. Geetanjali Kulkarni as mummy is pitch-perfect. Jameel Khan as papa can represent adorable fathers forever. Vaibhav Raj Gupta has a range of emotions and the best comic time as Annu and I would want to see him do more. Harsh Mayar uses his blank face as a tool and adds a layer to Aman.

• Gullak is just that: real life. Everything shown here is genuine, with no room for pretension. That is why, just like the first and second seasons, this third installment is a triumph. There is a sense of belonging, relationships that feel like your own, and anecdotes that take you back, impart valuable lessons, and perhaps remind you of simpler ways to live.

• Still, Gullak 5 is likeable, mainly because of the actors, whose chemistry works for them to be convincing as a loving family. This is rare, because unlike others on screen, it does not have to be dysfunctional to be watchable.

• The way middle-class mindsets, complaints, taunts, and manners are woven into the series while dealing with minor issues makes it thoroughly believable. The way the lead actors Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, and Harsh Mayar bring what is written to life on screen is truly remarkable.
