Good Will Hunting

• I cried so much. A masterpiece among masterpieces. I wish I had watched it sooner. Will is gifted, yet despite this immense talent he retreated into his shell and had a lot of sharp edges. When the professor repeatedly told him 'It's not your fault' and broke down Will's emotional walls, I broke down in tears. Hearing it again and again until the tension finally snapped and he wept like a child was truly beautiful.

• The film's strengths clearly lie in the middle section, as Will and Sean gradually grow closer and realize how much they have to offer one another. One because he can finally discover what he truly wants out of life, the other because he can work through his wife's death, or at least talk about it with someone.

• The film isn't just another side of Robin Williams, but so much more! It's a passion woven into life—memorable in this regard is Williams's description of his beloved wife with all her quirks, which, as the psychologist so rightly puts it, 'People call these things imperfections, but they're not... no, they're the good stuff.' But extraordinary too is the boy's psychological breakdown as it gradually takes shape, just as the figure of his friend Chuck (Ben Affleck) is marvelous.

• As far as I can tell, this is Robin Williams's best performance—or one of his best. I consider this film one of the best I've ever seen. It's captivating to the utmost degree. There are scenes in it that I've watched more than 10 times! Scenes to memorize, learn from, reflect upon, and dissect. There is nothing better than watching a movie and knowing you learned something, and if you watch it again, you'll learn even more! More about yourself, more about life.

• An excellent film about a very special young man hiding behind a troubled exterior due to his family background. The main cast is superb, featuring a flawless Robin Williams as the psychiatrist (which earned him the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor), and a spectacular Matt Damon portraying the protagonist. The story is deeply moving and succeeds in touching you and drawing you in from start to finish.
