It is a film that is claustrophobic in both a physical and metaphorical sense, culminating in an unexpected ending that lends an additional, harrowing weight to everything before it. In short, an essential piece of cinema.
Jimena on Letterboxd I have zero complaints. I love how a premise as simple as a bus trip manages to encompass so much without ever feeling dull, thanks in large part to the 10/10 performances and the wonderful camerawork.
joaquin on Letterboxd Paula Hernández portrays once again a mother-daughter relationship through a camera that generates as much intimacy as claustrophobia. Nothing is incidental: every resource is fully exploited, making the story feel alive and heartbreaking. No one better than a brilliant female director to film the insecurities of two protagonists who, in my view, deliver the best performances of the year.
