When Calls the Heart

• Watch the relationship grow between Elizabeth and Jack starting from distain and animosity to interest to love. As Jack fumbled his interactions with Elizabeth, I would think how much better I would have handled the situation, then I look back on my life and realize I made the same mistakes. So the authenticity is there. Elizabeth does an excellent job in projecting her budding feelings for Jack. Great facial expressions and subtle eye movements that convey deep feelings.

• I had tried an episode or two of When Calls The Heart and I think I watched one of the Christmas movies. I never liked it but I never watched it from the beginning. Well, I was wrong!! Since I have Hallmark+ for a little while, I decided to start it from the beginning. It didn’t take long and I was HOOKED!! I’m almost done with season 11 and it’s so good!

• Ah, it feels so good to follow the daily lives of simple people in a (fictional) village where the values of friendship, solidarity, hard work, and more haven't disappeared yet. And without foolish sentimentality, because the wholesome feelings aren't overblown. It's like taking a breath of fresh, pure air.

• It's truly a magnificent series, from the scenery to the acting, which is wonderful. The Hope Valley community really makes you want to live in their era, and the way they all help each other is fantastic. The love story between Elizabeth and Jack is simply sublime and their love is so strong; what they managed to build together is marvelous.

• I don't know, maybe I'm too sentimental, but this series struck the right chords in my soul. It has humor, grace, intelligence, goodness, and resilience of spirit. Everything we sometimes lack. This show is like a textbook for life: how to make decisions, how to cope with hardships, how to keep hope alive, and how to find the right path.
