In Rio de Janeiro's coastal Leblon district, an independent aesthetics clinic owner willingly yields her relationship with a younger doctor when her adult daughter falls hopelessly in love with him. When her daughter is later diagnosed with leukemia, the mother embarks on an agonizing moral sacrifice to save her life.

My favorite telenovela by Maneco; I find the story very good, and the author's writing held me captive from start to finish. Although I like it a lot, there are small things I would tweak, but that is all personal preference. In short, it is a very good telenovela; Ricardo Waddington's direction is outstanding, alongside Por Amor one of his finest. And the title of the work feels spot on!!

An addition to my previous comment: What a wonderful soundtrack this telenovela has! Great songs, with a special shoutout to the instrumental score by Alberto Rosenblit. Wonderful incidental cues that matched the story's mood perfectly. Even now, long after finishing my marathon of the show, I still remember some of the instrumentals and miss them.
