• The story of a brave daughter and her somewhat headstrong father, pulled through a magic mirror into the fairytale world of the 9 Kingdoms, is told with immense charm and wit. Much like SHREK, the most famous fairy tales serve as both inspiration and targets for parody, cleverly continuing the tales in unexpected ways—since 200 years have passed in the 9 Kingdoms since the days of the Brothers Grimm.

• Wolf, the perfect archetype of an antihero, reads self-help psychology books to curb his primal urges. In other words, they are not conventional heroes, and that's precisely why we love them. They are human and make mistakes, only to rise again. The fairytale figures take a back seat, and that is where the series truly shines.

• The 10th Kingdom, broadcast on NBC in 2000, is a bit like the Brothers Grimm going on a mind-bending road trip through magical realms, but with a quirky GPS and offbeat humor. This ambitious miniseries blends classic fairy tales with a healthy dose of modernity, all brought to life with a cast of characters as eccentric as they are endearing.

• If you love fantasy, the imagination, immersing yourself in other worlds, and fantastical creatures, this miniseries is made for you. I've already watched it twice and each time is pure escapist pleasure and dreaming. The theme song will always be a classic. Some special effects are a bit cheap of course, but who cares!

• Magical! Of course, in terms of visuals and special effects, some details leave something to be desired, but overall it's pretty good and an absolute perfect series for the Christmas season! No girl will be able to resist Scott Cohen's charm ;)
