Dostoevsky

• The main gem of the film is Yevgeny Mironov. An unmatched, towering actor, a national treasure of our country. This is truly Dostoevsky, into whom he incarnated on a molecular level. The sets and costumes are excellently selected, creating a feeling of living in that era—total immersion.

• It has been a long time since I watched such a vivid and colorful series. Even if Dostoevsky is not your favorite writer, you will definitely like the series.

• One can only envy Mironov's acting! He truly gave it his absolute hundred percent. Before watching this series, I had seen another work—'The Idiot'—and how marvelous it was to discern Yevgeny's talent, where he played the story's protagonist, and now the author of this masterpiece himself. You believe Mironov's acting, and that is wonderful.

• I can responsibly state that while watching the film, I didn't notice inexpensive sets or any flaws in the acting: all my attention was absorbed by him—Dostoevsky. Or rather, of course, Mironov, who, possessing remarkable talent, truly transformed into his character.

• With great pleasure I rewatched the series 'Dostoevsky' directed by Khotinenko. It was interesting to compare my subjective impressions from reading Dostoevsky's biography with his modern on-screen portrayal by the famous actor Mironov. The overall impression is positive. Dostoevsky himself and his life closely resemble his characters. Watching his biography feels as though we are reading yet another novel by Fyodor Mikhailovich.
