The 7 Lives of Lea

• What makes The 7 Lives of Lea a fresh and interesting work is its ability to weave seemingly different genres and characters together to create a universal story where everyone, regardless of generation, can see themselves and be moved. Blending the thriller genre with teen drama, the miniseries offers viewers a compelling story within the troubled world of adolescence that leaves you breathless and drives you to devour every episode.

• The performances are very good, which isn't always the case when most of the cast is young. It is particularly interesting how the sense of estrangement is achieved whenever Léa is inside someone's body. The differences in postures, gestures, and speech compared to scenes where they are 'themselves' are subtle yet convincing.

• With each episode and each body, Léa gains new perspectives, obtaining insights into the character relationships and all the problems that no one ever wanted to talk about. The reckoning with the past here is thus not just for the sake of the crime investigation.

• Quite a unique premise. Honestly, the time travel/body swapping aspect is more of a tool to explore the lives of different characters in intimate detail. Highly recommended French Netflix original.

• This sort of possession time travel is a really entertaining concept for me and 7 Lives of Léa did it very well. Each episode is constructed around a day from the week before Ismael's death. It unravels a mystery between each person she possesses. I enjoyed all the special moments that Léa did with the bodies she controlled.
