The Expanse

• Very good first season. The theme of war between planets and the scientific details, even bone density loss due to low gravity, give a really cool touch to the series. Every sci-fi fan must watch this show.

• The physical representation and world-building feel exceptionally realistic, crafted on the basis of real-world laws of physics and skillfully woven into the storytelling, making it thoroughly enjoyable even for space nerds.

• It is, without exaggeration, one of the most rigorously faithful productions to space physics ever made for television. It is a joy to see that the writers and directors did their homework. The series respects the vacuum, orbital mechanics, the impact of gravity (or its absence) on the human body, and even the realistic dynamics of armed space conflicts. There are no Hollywood shortcuts. It is science applied to storytelling, and that alone is a spectacle.

• The numerous political entanglements between Earth, Mars, and the Belters, along with the lurking threat in the background, make the series far more than just a space adventure with neat gimmicks. Anything can happen, especially early on with all kinds of surprising twists.

• Complex in its plot, but deeply rewarding if you let yourself be drawn in and watch with patience and an attentive mind. Featuring a captivating character (Miller), in a role infused with touches of Bogart-style film noir, playing a cynical, skeptical detective with the soul of an underdog, anchoring a brilliantly realized ensemble cast. The story, I insist, is exceptional. The second season ramps up the spectacle and builds masterfully on the first season's storyline.
