Evil
OndskanIn late 1950s Sweden, sixteen-year-old Erik Ponti is expelled from his Stockholm school following severe disciplinary issues and sent to Stjernsberg boarding school as a last resort. Desperate to escape a lifetime of abuse at home and break free from violence, Erik encounters an entrenched culture of sadistic hazing run by senior students and condoned by the faculty. As tensions escalate, he must resist the school's oppressive hierarchy and protect his dignity without becoming the very monster he despises.

Because Evil's 1950s both sounds and looks exceptionally fantastic. It is smoke-filled, elegant, eloquent, and populated exclusively by athletic, clean-cut upper-class boys with a proper yet sly demeanor.
Karolina Fjellborg on Aftonbladet The first episode is clearly solid, the second a notch sharper. If it continues in this direction, I might need to adjust my rating of three upward a notch. This is a TV series distinctly worth your time. Give it a chance.
Eric Diedrichs on Filmtopp Just like before, it is a truly powerful and dramatic depiction of the school and the hierarchies that sometimes prevail among students. The whole thing is elevated by an ensemble cast that is truly convincing (with the possible exception of an overacting Gustaf Skarsgård), well-articulated dialogue, stylish 1950s costumes and settings, as well as a dense atmosphere that permeates the entire production.
